Sarah Goldfarb

My name is Sarah Goldfarb, and I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in January 2010. Initially, I was scared. I had never heard of Celiac’s Disease. Moreover, what the heck was gluten? I was used to eating a sandwich or a sub with a chocolate chip or peanut butter cookie for lunch, and spaghetti and meatballs for dinner with chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream or a brownie for dessert. What was I going to do now?

Fortunately, I had just moved to Washington, DC, which has loads of organic grocery stores like Whole Foods and Trader Joes. I started researching online gluten free stores, and I learned that some restaurants even have special gluten free menus.

After only two weeks on my gluten free diet, I was feeling better. It has now been over a year since I was diagnosed, and my whole world has changed for the better. I feel and look better, and I can eat just as well now gluten free than I could before I had Celiac’s. I want to share with you my favorite brands, restaurants, bakeries, and stores; and I would love to hear about your favorites too.
